Home Dashboard
The Home Dashboard serves as the central hub of the SpendShrink application, providing a consolidated view of your AWS spending across all connected accounts. It's designed to give you immediate visibility into your overall AWS costs, spending trends, and potential savings opportunities.
Accessing the Home Dashboard
The Home Dashboard is the default landing page after logging into SpendShrink. You can also access it at any time by:
- Clicking the SpendShrink logo in the top-left corner of any page
- Selecting "Home" from the main navigation menu
Dashboard Components

The Home Dashboard is organized into several key sections:
Summary Cards
At the top of the dashboard, summary cards provide a quick overview of your AWS spending:
- Total Month-to-Date: The combined spending across all your AWS accounts for the current month
- Monthly Forecast: Projected total spending by the end of the current month
- Previous Month Total: Your combined spending for the previous complete month
- Monthly Potential: Estimated monthly savings if all identified optimization opportunities were implemented
Spending Trends Chart
The main chart visualizes:
- Historical Spending: View combined spending across all accounts over time
- Trend Line: Identify overall spending direction and patterns
- Month-over-Month Comparison: Easily compare current spending to previous periods
Top AWS Accounts
This section highlights:
- Highest-Cost Accounts: Which AWS accounts are consuming the most budget
- Account Distribution: What percentage of your total spend each account represents
- Growth Indicators: Which accounts are showing significant changes in spending
Top AWS Services
This section displays:
- Most Expensive Services: The AWS services costing you the most across all accounts
- Service Breakdown: Relative proportions of spending by service
- Usage Trends: How service usage is changing over time
Recent Anomalies
This section alerts you to:
- Spending Anomalies: Unusual spending patterns detected across your accounts
- Severity Levels: Classification of anomalies by potential impact
- Quick Navigation: Direct links to investigate specific anomalies
Savings Opportunities Preview
This section provides:
- Free Tier: A preview of potential savings opportunities with estimated values
- Premium Tier: Detailed top savings opportunities across all accounts
- ROI Indicators: Which opportunities offer the highest return on investment
Dashboard Features
Account Filtering
You can filter the dashboard to focus on specific accounts:
- Use the account selector at the top of the dashboard
- Choose "All Accounts" for the consolidated view
- Select individual accounts to focus on specific environments
Date Range Selection
Customize the time period displayed:
- Use the date range selector in the upper right
- Choose from preset ranges (Current Month, Previous Month, etc.)
- Select a custom date range for specific analysis periods
Data Refresh
The dashboard data is refreshed:
- Automatically once every 24 hours
- Whenever you manually refresh the page
- When you log in after being logged out for more than 24 hours

The Home Dashboard is ideal for daily monitoring:
- Check the summary cards for any significant changes
- Review recent anomalies for potential issues
- Note the monthly forecast against your expected budget
